This week i started shooting the agfa apx 100 a relatively cheap black and white 35mm film roll that gave me some truly amazing result.
The film was tested on my nikon f5 and i did some general outdoor landscape and studio portrait with it. i used a nikkor 28mm f3.5 Ais for outdoor and a 135mm f3.5 ais in the studio.
The Agfa apx 100 does a very good job for landscape and outdoor photography the film is a bit grainy but very pleasing to the eyes ....
The real surprise came with the studio session where this cheap 35mm roll gave me some really stunning photo with amazing rendering
the studio session are done with a butterfly lighting setup and a reflector below the model ( clamshell lighting setup )
Overall i am very satisfied with these results, its a relatively cheap film with beautiful grain and texture that does an amazing job at studio portraiture and general street/landscape photography. The film was developed and scanned at my regular lab ( cape film supply ) in Cape town.
